whole-person care.Position Description:The Sr. Director of
Compliance & Operations will play a key role in helping Caminar
navigate regulatory compliance, obtain and maintain accreditation
(CARF and Joint Commission), and ensure adherence to state
licensure and Medicaid requirements. This individual will also
support new facility licensing, oversee compliance programs, lead
organizational-wide continuous improvement activities, support
efforts to help diversify our payor mix, oversee facilities and
fleet management, and play a critical role in the success of
fulfilling our mission.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide compliance and regulatory guidance for all Caminar
programs and providers.
- Manage new facility licensing and ongoing state licensure
requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission (JCAHO), CARF, and
state-specific accreditation standards.
- Lead the accreditation process to ensure success and when
needed implement appropriate actions to address deficiencies.
- Develop and lead organization-wide continuous improvement
program.
- Support the organization with expansion and diversification
efforts (including new payer sources).
- Support programs in understanding payer guidelines, Medicaid
requirements, and reimbursement policies.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with
state and federal regulations.
- Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and training for
programs.
- Conduct complex research on guidelines and regulations.
- Oversee the management and optimization of our facilities and
fleet.
- Lead and support multiple projects in a fast-paced,
deadline-driven environment.
- Occasionally travel for on-site support and compliance
assessments.Requirements, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
- 5+ years of compliance experience in Mental Health and SUD
treatment settings.
- Strong knowledge of state licensure, Medicaid (Medi-Cal)
regulations, and commercial payer guidelines.
- Experience with JCAHO, CARF, and other accreditation
bodies.
- Experience developing and leading continuous improvement
activities (Lean and/or Six Sigma experience beneficial).
- Proficiency with electronic health record platforms (Credible
experience desirable).
- Project management experience with the ability to manage
multiple projects.
- Expertise in policy and procedure development for behavioral
health facilities.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment.
- Prior staff management and development
- Commercial payor contracting and rate negotiation experience is
highly desirable.
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or NAHQ certification
preferred.
- Prior experience licensing or managing compliance for
facilities in California is preferred.

Environmental and Mental Requirements:
- Physical: Occasionally required to push/pull objects up to 50
lbs, and to lift/carry objects up to 25 lbs. frequently required to
perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks such as typing,
writing, etc. Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended
periods.
- Sensory: Frequently required to read documents, written
reports, and plans. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with
some background noise, as in answering the phone, interacting with
residents and staff, etc. Must be able to speak clearly and
understand/be understood using the English language.
- Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on moderate
detail with constant interruption. Must be able to attend to a
task/function for 20-45 minutes at a time. Frequently required to
understand and relate to specific ideas, several at a time. Must be
able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and
others over a period of several days.
- Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to varied office
and mixed (residential/office) environments. Occasional exposure to
toxins and poisonous substances, dust, and loud noises.
- Equipment: Frequently required to use a computer, phone, and
fax machine. Special Requirements:
- Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance,
as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Caminar
practices.
- This position will require frequent driving so maintaining a
valid CA driver license, reliable personal automobile, a clean
driving record, and current insurance as required by law are
essential job requirements.
